Oct. 18—ELKHART COUNTY — Farmers State Bank has donated a total of $100,000 to eight area schools.
The bank says it's all high schools within the bank's foot print.
Ladership met with representatives from one of the local school corporations to learn about the challenges that many school corporations are facing relative to the fine arts programs. Following that discussion, the bank reached the conclusion that FSB could make a difference to the fine arts programs in all of the local schools in the bank's market.
"FSB is glad to report that we donated over $100,000 to help support the student arts programs in our market footprint," said Joe Urbanski, President and CEO of FSB. "Farmers State Bank's mission is to make a difference in the communities we serve. FSB believes that our schools' fine arts programs serve a very important role in the academics of our students, and we are excited to support these programs in our local schools."
FSB donated to Fairfield High School, Westview High School, Lakeland High School, Sturgis High School, Prairie Heights High School, Angola High School, Fremont High School and Hamilton High School.
