Nov. 5—A new entertainment facility will look to bring the community together while offering a unique experience in Duncan.
Experience Headquarters (HQ) co-owners Christopher Stone, Alexandra Matthews and Leanna Matthews opened up their new business as a way to bring a little added fun to the community in which they were raised.
Experience HQ offers ax throwing, a paint splatter room and a party room available for booking Friday through Sunday. The owners intend on extending operating days in the future.
Stone said they wanted to bring a new experience to Duncan and a place where people could gather and locals wouldn't have to travel too far to enjoy a fun night out.
The goal for Experience HQ is to bring a unique twist to the traditional ax throwing experience. The facility offers three lanes at six people per lane.
Stone said they have in-grain wood targets and the fibers in the in-grain wood allow the ax to stick better.
"Our targets will last around three months with people throwing at it," he said.
According to Stone, they have a target projector with several games to choose from and the digital target allows players to set up teams and keep score.
For some targets, the bullseye will shift around after each round played.
"This fun for people who are competitive, so you're not throwing at the same target," he said.
Ax throwing offers games such as: Zombie Hunter, Duck Hunter, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four, Bottle Ax — which is a live version of Candy Crush, as well as a new matching game.
Another feature at Experience HQ is its Paint Splatter Room, which will accommodate seven people at time. It provides a creative place for guests to "fling paint around" and not clean up the mess.
Alexandra Matthews said when guests enter the black light room, they get to paint and just have fun.
"You actually get a canvas to take in with you and you get to leave with your masterpiece, so it's a whole lot of fun," she said. "Some people choose to wear ponchos, some don't, so they can take their actual shirts home as a souvenir as well."
In addition to flinging paint, Alexandra Matthews said guests can play music on the bluetooth speaker inside the room.
She said the room allows for 30 minutes at a time for up to seven or eight people, depending on the kid to adult ratio.
The Paint Splatter Room is $18 per person for 30 minutes.
In addition to fun zones, Experience HQ offers a party room for guests, as well as food and drinks to enjoy to go along with the entertainment experience.
