UK oilfield services provider EnerMech has secured a pre-commissioning contract for the One Guyana floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is set to arrive in Guyanese waters this year.

Commissioned by SBM Offshore for ExxonMobil Guyana, the One Guyana FPSO is designed to produce around 250,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

It will also have a gas treatment capacity of around 450 million cubic feet per day and a water injection capacity of 300,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The FPSO unit will be anchored in water approximately 1,800m deep and will have a storage capacity of two million barrels of crude oil.

The contract requires EnerMech to undertake a range of pre-commissioning activities such as offshore risers leak testing and gas injection riser de-watering, umbilical electrical and fibre-optic testing, and installation of interconnecting tubing and flushing and testing equipment.

EnerMech said the contract award builds on its experience with the three preceding FPSOs – Liza Destiny, Liza Unity and Prosperity.

EnerMech operations in Americas VP Frazer Thomson said: “The One Guyana FPSO pre-commissioning scope of work requires precise execution and deep technical expertise to manage the complex challenges these operations present, and we have consistently delivered successful outcomes for SBM GDO in the region. Our ability to deploy specialised personnel and advanced technology underlines our readiness to handle the demanding environment of deep-water operations.”

Last month, EnerMech secured a five-year contract extension to provide Qatar-based North Oil Company (NOC) with leak testing and flange management services.

The award, in the Al Shaheen oilfield in Qatar, strengthens EnerMech’s partnership with NOC.

The Al Shaheen oilfield is a production field off the north-east coast of Qatar in the Arabian Gulf, 80km north of the capital, Doha.
