In addition, the firm promoted Jake Saper to Principal and is welcoming new team member Kara Egan as Senior Associate. With these promotions and new addition, Emergence Capital continues to invest in and expand its investment team to further its mission of partnering with the most important enterprise cloud visionaries.

Since joining Emergence, Joe Floyd has demonstrated a strong ability to identify and engage with the next generation of technology leaders. He led the firm's investment in project44 and has been actively involved in portfolio companies including SalesLoft, Betterworks, Bill.com and Replicon. Prior to joining Emergence, Joe worked at American Capital's technology group, where he focused on investing in fast-growing internet and software companies. Previously he was an Associate with McKinsey & Co. Joe earned his MBA from The Wharton School and a BS and BA from the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a Kauffman Fellow.
Jake Saper was promoted from Senior Associate to Principal at Emergence. Jake has been actively involved with portfolio companies Comfy, DroneDeploy, and Augmedix, among others. Prior to joining Emergence, Jake worked at Kleiner Perkins' Green Growth Fund, where he focused on the geospatial, agricultural tech, and enterprise SaaS sectors. Jake earned his MBA and MS Environment & Resources degrees from Stanford and his BA from Yale. He is also a Kauffman Fellow.
Prior to joining Emergence, Kara Egan ran product marketing for Stitch Labs, led Zendesk's partner and product marketing efforts for their expansion into the enterprise market, and built Backupify's reseller channel program. Before moving to the operating side, she was the founding Associate at .406 Ventures, driving the initial investments in SaaS, health IT, and security companies. Kara earned her MBA from The Wharton School and her BS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford.
