GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2015) - The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that Bernard Généreux, the candidate of the Conservative Party of Canada, has been declared elected in the electoral district of Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup (Quebec), following a judicial recount completed on October 31, 2015, by Justice Claude Bouchard of the Superior Court in the District of Montmagny.
At the 42nd general election held on October 19, 2015, the difference between the Conservative candidate, Bernard Généreux, and the Liberal candidate, Marie-Josée Normand, was 269 votes in favour of Bernard Généreux. Following the judicial recount, the difference between the two candidates is 272 votes.

The returning officer for Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup will complete the writ of election and forward it to the Chief Electoral Officer, who will sign the writ and publish the name of the elected candidate in the Canada Gazette.
