Earnings, retail on docket this week

This week brings more earnings reports and a handful of other events.

China reported trade numbers over the weekend and will follow up tonight with inflation and loan-growth data. In the United States, quarterly results are due before the opening bell from Hasbro, Masco, and Diamond Offshore.

Tomorrow brings earnings reports from Coca-Cola, CVS Caremark, Regeneron, Sealed Air, Starwood Hotels, and Molson Coors. Akamai Technologies, Cerner, Genworth, and Western Union follow after the close. There are no economic events.

Wednesday's agenda includes weekly mortgage applications, crude-oil inventories, and a meeting of European leaders concerning Greece. PepsiCo, Time Warner, Mondelez, Mosaic, AOL, and Zoetis report in the morning. Cisco Systems, Applied Materials, MetLife, Nvidia, Tesla Motors, Tesoro, Whole Foods, Baidu, and FireEye announce in the afternoon.

Thursday's economic numbers include European industrial production, U.S. jobless claims, and monthly retail sales. Coca-Cola Enterprises, Kellogg, Apache, and Melco Crown are scheduled for the pre-market. American International Group, CBS, Kraft Foods, Boyd Gaming, and Zynga follow after the close of trading.

The week concludes Friday morning with European economic growth and U.S. consumer sentiment, plus earnings from VF Corporation.
