Crypto Builders Are Advised To Focus On Operating Outside The US Markets

Antonio Juliano, the founder of decentralized exchange dYdX, has suggested that cryptocurrency builders should shift their focus away from serving customers in the United States for the next five to ten years.

He advises them to look into alternative markets and come back when the going is better. Juliano recently made the point that cryptocurrency developers, especially startups, should give foreign markets priority. He thinks that by taking this strategy, they will be able to overcome fewer challenges, which will promote platform expansion and user adoption.

Juliano's advice is mostly directed at startups, who may scale more quickly in friendlier foreign markets. He stated, "Crypto builders should just give up serving US customers for now and try to re-enter in 5-10 years[...]Most of the market is overseas anyways. Innovate there, find PMF [product market fit], then come back with more leverage."

Juliano emphasized the significance of the crypto industry growing significantly in order to have greater influence over U.S. policies, while acknowledging the difficulties faced by ambiguous regulations regulating cryptocurrency in the U.S. Before returning with a sizable user base, he suggests concentrating on product market fits in foreign markets.

While Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, offered a differing perspective by predicting a shorter timeline for improvement in U.S. regulations, Juliano's viewpoint emphasizes the need for crypto to achieve global-scale usage and influence to shape effective policies.
