Duro Felguera Announces Partnership with Ausenco for Jointly Implemented Turnkey Projects

Asturian Firm Duro Felguera Has Managed to Sign a Strategically Crucial Deal with Ausenco to Improve Its Position on the Market

BARCELONA, SPAIN / ACCESSWIRE / July 27, 2015 / Considered a historic deal, the newfound partnership between international business group Duro Felguera SA from the Asturias and Australian mining company Ausenco is expected to create brand new opportunities for both companies, allowing them to focus on a joint venture implementing turnkey solutions that are to be discussed on a case by case basis. Signed in Madrid, the deal aims to open up joint ventures that both parties can benefit from, while highlighting the complementary elements associated with the services that the companies may offer.

The collaboration has the purpose of expanding market share, providing an increasing number of turnkey solutions, and making certain that a better focus can be ensured in the field of engineering study provision - where Ausenco will be aiming to cover all phases of the projects. Duro Felguera, on the other hand, will be focusing more on targeted ventures, involving the execution phase of turnkey construction solutions.

One of the main advantages of this new deal is the fact that Ausenco is able to bring many new locations to the table, giving "both organizations a real chance to improve their market share, particularly in mineral processing markets" - as Duro's CEO Angel Antonio del Valle said.

Ausenco has indeed expanded throughout the past 20 years from its first location in Brisbane to dozens of other countries throughout the Americas, Africa and South Asia. Some of them include South Africa, the USA, Brazil and China.

Zimi Meka, Ausenco's CEO, said "the regions of short-term growth remain Ausenco United States / Canada and Latin America." He also concluded that some central Asian and African countries would also be able to benefit from improved solutions in the gas, oil and mining industry.

Duro Felguera has not excluded discussing a future increase on its stake in Australia. Both companies are confident that they will be able to obtain input on projects worth in excess of $500 million through their new collaboration.
