DuPont (DD) has opened an Application Development Center in India that will combine advanced material science with other scientific disciplines to offer automobile industry light-weighting, safety and improved engine performance solutions. The center is an expansion of the company’s integrated science capabilities at the DuPont India Knowledge Center in Hyderabad.
The integration, as referred above, such as the combination of high-performance polymers and elastomers is vital to develop cost-effective and sustainable solutions that will reduce DuPont’s dependence on fossil fuels.
DuPont‘s new Application Development Center is expected to deliver value-added solutions to customers in automotive as well as railways, electrical/electronic components, food processing, agriculture, irrigation and textile industries.
The center’s focus will be to work closely with local customers and partners visiting the DuPont Innovation Center in Pune, network with DuPont technical experts globally consisting of 10,000 scientists and engineers, offer products and solutions tailored to local needs in India and South Asia, and bring those sustainable solutions to market faster.
The new Center has a stock of thermoplastic and elastomer processing and testing equipment and also uses existing analytic equipment shared with several DuPont science disciplines.
The center also enhances the capabilities of manufacturing facilities in Savli, Gujarat, and the DuPont India Innovation Center in Pune. These manufacturing facilities’ capabilities will also enhance to support predictive engineering, including computer-aided engineering (CAE), 3D surface computer-aided design (CAD), mold-flow, warpage, structural, impact and NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) analysis.
The DuPont Knowledge Center is one of the four regional R&D centers of DuPont in India that undertake research as well as applications development focused on science-based solutions. These solutions meet the local needs for more and better food, access to reliable and uninterrupted energy, better mobility and protection of people and the environment.
