BINGHAMTON, NY--(Marketwired - December 12, 2015) - Dr. Saeed Bajwa is demonstrating his commitment to improving spinal operating procedures by making the necessary arrangements to obtain MAZOR Robotics, a leading spine surgery innovation, for his practice. Dr. Bajwa, an accomplished neurosurgeon, a renowned scholar in the field, and an innovator in the practice of neurosurgery, is currently practicing at Southern New York NeuroSurgical Group, P.C. in Binghamton, NY. Obtaining the MAZOR Robotics for his practice will enable him to deliver precise surgery options during complex spinal procedures. Having recently attended the required training program in Florida, Dr. Bajwa is now certified to use the MAZOR Robotics, which is one of the most technological advances in spinal operations in modern times.
Educated in Pakistan and New York, Dr. Bajwa has nearly 30 years of knowledge and experience in general surgery, medicine, pathology, and micro-neurosurgery. The combination of his understanding and training, with his involvement in committee and community services, all contribute towards him becoming the highly successful neurosurgeon that he is today. The technology of the MAZOR Robotics will enable more accurate guidance of the surgeon's tools in the operating room. This will result in patients under his care now benefiting further due to the advanced 3D planning software. Facilitating minimally invasive procedures, the machinery is suitable for treating spine conditions including scoliosis and painful vertebral compression fractures that can occur as a result of osteoporosis. Only a limited number of neurosurgeons is currently trained to use this technology, and Dr. Bajwa is honored to bring the cutting-edge treatment to his practice. Proven benefits include fewer complications and requirements for revision surgery, a reduced risk of screw misplacement, and faster recovery times.
Having worked at the Southern New York Neurosurgical Group since 1986, Dr. Saeed Bajwa has a significant amount of first-hand experience treating spinal injuries, particularly from his active participation in assisting those injured following the earthquake in his homeland of Pakistan in 2005. Dr. Bajwa has deep ties with the region, having been born in Pakistan and educated in Lahore where he attended Nishtar Medical College of the University of Punjab. Graduating in 1976, he received a gold medal for first position in surgery and appeared on the honor roll for best graduate. He served as a lecturer in Forensic Medicine and Pathology at King Edward Medical College in Lahore for several years before pursuing a career in neurosurgery. He was awarded a position as Resident in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and has been contributing to the American medical world for almost 30 years.
