Dongfeng strengthens operations in Indonesia

In This Article:

Chinese state-owned vehicle manufacturer, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, has officially opened a new operating office in Indonesia to help it expand in South-east Asia’s largest vehicle market, as the company steps up its overseas expansion plans.

Dongfeng Motor held a major opening event in Jakarta last week, the Southeast Asia Dongfeng Day 2025, which the company said was to mark a “significant milestone in Dongfeng Motor's expansion into right-hand drive markets.”

The new Indonesian office will look to raise Dongfeng’s profile and influence in the Indonesian and neighbouring South-east Asian markets, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and even Australia. It aims to improve the company’s understanding of local customer needs allowing it to provide tailored products and services.

At the event the company launched three new heavy-duty truck models at the event - the Dongfeng GX, the Dongfeng KC PRO and the Dongfeng KC Plus, targeting mainly the general logistics, port logistics and mining sectors.

Dongfeng Motor has set an export target of 191,500 vehicles for 2025, including 151,500 passenger vehicles and 40,000 commercial vehicles.
