Dalradian Resources Announces Changes to its Board of Directors and the Results of its 2013 Meeting of Shareholders
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jun 28, 2013) - Dalradian Resources Inc. ("Dalradian" or the "Company") (DNA.TO)(DRLDF) is pleased to announce the results of its 2013 annual and special meeting of shareholders (the "Meeting") held in Toronto, Ontario on June 27, 2013, and the appointment of Mr. Jonathan A. Rubenstein, LL.B and Mr. Grenville Thomas to its Board of Directors (the "Board").
Mr. Rubenstein is a professional mining director. He currently serves with Detour Gold, Eldorado Gold, Mag Silver, (where he is the Chairman), Roxgold and Troon Ventures. His career spans 37 years and includes over 18 years as a lawyer in private practice, with a focus on securities and mining, 11 years as a mining executive, and 7 years to date as a professional mining company director.
Mr. Rubenstein was a founding director of Sutton Resources, Canico Resource Corp and Cumberland Resources. While practicing law and afterwards as a mining executive, Mr. Rubenstein negotiated and wrote mining, mineral tenure, land acquisition, joint venture agreements, as well as agreements with governments. He was involved in all aspects of mineral exploration, permitting and mine development. He was active for issuer's in numerous securities offerings and debt financing arrangements. He played key roles for the targets in Sutton's takeover by Barrick Gold in 1999 for $545 million, Canico's takeover by CVRD in 2005 for $940 million and Aurelian's takeover by Kinross Gold in 2008 for $1.2 billion.
Mr. Thomas holds an engineering degree from University College, Cardiff, Wales and has spent the past 50 years in the mining industry working as an engineer, prospector, entrepreneur and promoter. His founding of Aber Resources (Harry Winston Diamond Corporation) and the subsequent discovery of the Diavik mine in the North West Territories led to one of Canada's greatest success stories and his subsequent admittance to the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in 2009. In addition, his work has earned him many honours including the 1999 PDAC Prospector of the Year and 2001 Northern Miner Man of the Year. Mr. Thomas is currently Chairman of Strongbow Exploration Inc., a previous owner of the Curraghinalt Project in Northern Ireland.
Dalradian also announces that the Company has accepted a board resignation from Mr. Joseph F. Conway and Mr. Keith McKay. The board and management would like to thank Mr. Conway for his contributions and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
