The Guggenheim Solar ETF (TAN) lost 8.29 percent and the Market Vectors Solar Energy fund (KWT) sank 7.63 percent on Wednesday, Aug. 7, ringing in as the day's biggest performance losers. Markets stumbled, with the S'P 500 dropping 6.46 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 1,690.91. U.S.-listed ETFs shed assets overall, ending the day at $1.535 trillion.
Meanwhile, agriculture notes like the iPath Dow Jones-UBS Cotton Total Return ETN (BAL), which added 3.01 percent, topped performance.
