TEMPE, AZ--(Marketwired - Sep 24, 2014) - enChoice®, Inc. announced today the release of CYA SmartRecovery™ 5.0 for IBM® FileNet® Content Manager (P8). CYA SmartRecovery 5.0 eliminates planned FileNet downtime by leveraging existing backup technologies to perform hot, consistent point-in-time backups of all FileNet components (the process engine, database, object stores and global configuration database (GCD)).
For companies operating in multiple time zones and running customer-facing applications, there is no good time to take FileNet offline for a system backup. One study conducted by the Ponemon Institute* finds the average cost of downtime to be $7,900 per minute. For a company that needs to bring FileNet down for daily backups and maintenance, this translates into tens of millions of dollars each year.
While backup technologies that perform hot backups of databases and content are available, they don't ensure consistency between FileNet components, which causes data corruption. CYA SmartRecovery's "FileNet-aware" technology enables it to integrate tightly with the FileNet platform, system backup applications and snapshot solutions so it can control and execute the backup of each component in a manner that maintains data consistency.
CYA SmartRecovery also enhances system and disaster recovery by reducing data loss to 15 minutes. In addition, CYA SmartRecovery mitigates unplanned FileNet downtime by providing online recovery in response to operational incidents such as corruptions, viruses and programmatic errors.
A webinar focused on CYA SmartRecovery's new hot backup feature will be held September 25, 2014. Visit http://bit.ly/1wIn4VR to learn more or register.
