Cropcast Friday: Plains are wetter in central areas in the 6-10 day period

Cropcast Morning Headlines:

-Midwest is drier in far northwestern areas in the 6-10 day period. Showers in southern areas this weekend and early next week should further improve moisture for wheat. The 6-10 day outlook is drier in far northwestern areas. Temperatures are unchanged. The 11-15 day outlook is wetter. Temperatures are warmer in central and southern areas.

-Plains are wetter in central areas in the 6-10 day period. Snow in western Nebraska early next week should help build winterkill protection for wheat. Colder conditions should return later next week, but no winterkill is currently expected. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in central areas. Temperatures are unchanged. The 11-15 day outlook is wetter in northern areas. Temperatures are unchanged.

-No changes for Florida. Limited rains through early next week should favor harvesting. Temperatures will cool a bit on Saturday morning, but should remain above frost levels. The 6-10 day outlook is unchanged. The 11-15 day outlook is unchanged.

-Delta is slightly wetter in the 6-10 day period. Abundant showers again this weekend and early next week will continue to improve moisture for wheat. The 6-10 day outlook is slightly wetter. Temperatures are cooler. The 11-15 day outlook is wetter in northeastern areas. Temperatures are warmer.

-No changes for Argentina. Additional rains in central and northeastern areas late this weekend and next week will further improve moisture. Meanwhile, dryness will continue in La Pampa and southern Buenos Aires. The 6-10 day outlook is unchanged.

-No changes for Brazil. Additional showers in southern areas should continue to ease remaining dryness there. Some slight improvement will be possible in northwestern areas, but more rains will be needed there and in northeastern areas to end dryness. The 6-10 day outlook is unchanged.

-No changes for Europe. Dryness remains extensive in western and southeastern areas. Some slight improvements will be likely in central Italy and western Spain through early next week, with notable improvements expected in northeastern and southeastern areas later next week.

-No changes for Black Sea. Snow cover should rebuild across northeastern Ukraine and Belarus early next week, which will be needed to prevent winterkill as much colder conditions return later next week.

-No changes for China. Showers in western and southeastern Yangtze Valley next week should further improve moisture for wheat and rapeseed.

-No changes for Australia. Showers in northeastern New South Wales and eastern Queensland will maintain slow wheat harvesting, but will improve moisture for sorghum. Harvesting should progress well in South Australia and Western Australia.
