Consumer confidence and housing are the main themes on today's calendar.
The Case-Shiller index of home prices for January will be released at 9 a.m. ET. Economists expect an increase of 13.3 percent, down from 13.4 percent a month earlier. FHFA's index comes out at the same time but isn't tracked by forecasters.
Consumer confidence follows at 10 a.m. Economists anticipate a reading of 78.2, up slightly from 78.1 on month earlier. New home sales for February, scheduled for the same time, are expected to total 445,000 on an annualized basis, lower than January's 468,000 reading.
Carnival and Walgreen also report quarterly results before the opening bell.
Durable goods are the main event tomorrow.
