Company seeks incentives for project

GUILFORD COUNTY — An unidentified company is seeking economic incentives from Guilford County for a development that would involve an investment of $305 million and creation of 109 jobs in the southwestern part of the county.

The company, dubbed Project Electro, would qualify for incentives of up to $2.6 million. The company is considering an expansion of its Gallimore Dairy Road facility in Greensboro, according to a county notice.

The investment and new job creation would have to be completed by the end of 2027. The company would have to achieve benchmarks on new jobs and investment to receive the incentives.

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the incentives request at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 during its next meeting at the Old County Courthouse at 301 W. Market St. in downtown Greensboro.

The company is also requesting state and other local incentives before making a decision on the site of the expansion, the county notice indicates. The company is considering other locations within the United States for the expansion.
