Comics Veteran Brian Augustyn Joins Red Giant Entertainment

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2013) - Red Giant Entertainment Inc. (OTCQB: REDG), an innovative Intellectual Property company specializing in high quality characters and content for use in a variety of media and entertainment, is pleased to announce that veteran comic book writer and editor Brian Augustyn has been brought on as Story Editor for the company's Giant-Size line.

Brian Augustyn will guide the storytelling for every feature comprising the Giant-Size line, Red Giant's revolutionary free print comic book initiative. Augustyn, who got his start in the industry editing the hit independent comic book Trollords, went on to work for NOW Comics overseeing Speed Racer, and DC Comics, where he edited such titles as Justice League and The Flash.

In 1989, Augustyn inadvertently co-created DC's popular "Elseworlds" line of alternate universe comics when he wrote the graphic novel Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, illustrated by future Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and P. Craig Russell (Sandman). In 1992, while editing The Flash he hired writer Mark Waid to script, leading to an acclaimed 8-year run and eventual comics superstardom for Waid (Kingdom Come). After leaving as editor in 1996, Augustyn returned for two long stretches to co-write The Flash with Waid.

"Stories are the cornerstone of our intellectual properties. Having someone of Mr. Augustyn's caliber to shepherd our comics line is a vital need," said Benny Powell, CEO, Red Giant Entertainment. "We couldn't be happier that he shares our vision for the Company and characters, and expect this to be the start of something truly phenomenal."

"I'm delighted to join the innovative team at Red Giant," stated Augustyn. "I look forward to applying my commitment to high quality stories and excellent storytelling to Red Giant's new and exciting line-up. Red Giant comics are going to be big -- and we're going to have a lot of fun bringing them to our readers."
