The Feather-Raft Weighs Just 60 Pounds But Can Keep More than 600 Pounds Afloat
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / May 8, 2017 / Elias Ruiz is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of his Coalface Creations Feather-Raft. The patent pending Feather-Raft will make it easy for people to enjoy their time on the water.

As Ruiz noted, he has experimented with raft designs since 2008. The first raft he ever created was made of two liter soda bottles and it was designed so he could easily fish and hunt from it, and well as carry it around.
Over time, Ruiz experimented with different types of rafts and finally invented the Feather-Raft, named after the fact that he can carry it with one arm. Ruiz applied for the patent and registered a couple of trademarks, including one for his company name, Coalface Creations.
Although the Feather-Raft weighs only 60 pounds, it can keep 600 pounds afloat. It is not an inflatable raft and is built to last using corrosion resistant materials. Compared to a kayak or canoe, the Feather-Raft is very light, stable, and buoyant.
"I have been using one of my prototype Feather-Rafts since early 2011 and it's still in great working condition," Ruiz said, adding that he now hopes to bring the Feather-Raft to the national and international markets.
Recently, Ruiz won the first annual Stanislaus Innovation Challenge in Modesto, California. While the company received a good amount of publicity, Ruiz has not been able to meet the production demands and distribution logistics without the proper funding.
"We have found a manufacturer for the Feather-Raft. This USA company will be able to produce mass quantities, but we need startup funds," Ruiz said.
In order to pay for the tooling fees that will be in excess of $100,000 alone, along with covering inventory costs and more, Ruiz recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. There, he hopes to raise $150,000 through crowdfunding and finally bring the Feather-Raft to an appreciative public.
