BEIJING, July 29 (Reuters) - China reported 49 new COVID-19 cases on July 28, compared with 86 cases a day earlier, according to China's national health authority.
Local infections accounted for 24 of the new cases, down from 55 a day earlier, said a notice from the National Health Commission. Most of the local cases were reported in the eastern province of Jiangsu, it said.
Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in mainland China stand at 92,811, and the death toll remains at 4,636, it said.
China also reported 14 new asymptomatic cases, which it does not classify as confirmed cases. (Reporting by Gabriel Crossley; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
