China reports 22 new coronavirus cases for Sept 29 vs 25 a day earlier
SHANGHAI, Sept 30 (Reuters) - China on Thursday reported 22 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the mainland for Sept. 29, compared with 25 a day earlier, according to the National Health Commission.
Of the new infections, 6 were locally transmitted, the health authority said, compared with 11 local cases a day earlier.
China also reported 21 new asymptomatic coronavirus cases, which it does not classify as confirmed infections, compared with 19 a day earlier. No new deaths were reported.
Mainland China has recorded a total 96,128 confirmed cases, with its cumulative death toll unchanged at 4,636. (Reporting by Brenda Goh; Editing by Tom Hogue)
