BEIJING, Feb 24 (Reuters) - China reported 186 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Feb. 23, the country's national health authority said on Thursday, compared with 205 a day earlier.

Of the new cases, 85 were locally transmitted, the National Health Commission said, compared with 90 a day earlier.

About half of the new local cases were in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, while Wuhan in central China reported 10 new infections and Beijing reported two.

The number of new asymptomatic cases, which China does not classify as confirmed cases, stood at 112 compared with 67 a day earlier.

There were no new deaths, leaving the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
