Looking to travel this summer? The Shreveport Regional Airport has new options for you.

The Orlando, Florida nonstop flight has begun and will last until mid-August and will be offered twice a week, Sunday and Thursday.

In addition to the Orlando flight, Allegiant will be offering flights to Destin, Florida and Los Angeles, California. These flights will began Friday, June 3.

Expansion of solar energy coming to Northwest Louisiana

Southwestern Electric Power Co., announced that they plan to add 999 megawatts of wind and solar energy by the end of 2025.

Mooringsport will be one location in this expansion, and will bring a 200 MW solar facility.

SWEPCO intends to evaluate and/or conduct additional requests for proposals to explore more opportunities to add least-cost renewable generation and capacity in the coming years.

SWEPCO’s long-term strategy calls for more than one-third of its SPP-accredited capacity to be satisfied with wind and solar resources.

Magnolia School of Excellence announced that they will be saying farewell to Principal Mary Nash Robinson who is retiring and saying hello to a new principal.

Robinson, who has served Magnolia for four years, is handing over the baton to Teniesha Mahoney-Williams. 

Mahoney-Williams most recently served as Magnolia's assistant principal.
