CLEVELAND, TN--(Marketwired - July 26, 2015) - Check Into Cash announced today that the company has joined Peyton Manning in supporting the families of those who lost their lives as well as those who were wounded in the tragic shootings on July 16.

The company's CEO and founder Allan Jones said the company would donate $10,000 to the Chattanooga Heroes Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, which was established by Manning following the tragedy.

"Check Into Cash supports Chattanooga and we wanted the families and others affected by the events on July 16 to know they are not alone," Jones said. "I ask others across the United States to join us in saluting the five servicemen who lost their lives, as well as the brave police officer who risked his life to protect others. We also want to acknowledge the first responders who arrived quickly to help."

Steve Scoggins, Check Into Cash President, said the $10,000 donation would help provide for the future of the families affected by the shooting.

"That is what is really important," Scoggins said. "By asking others to join Peyton and Check Into Cash in this effort we are sending a message to these families that you are not alone -- we are here for you always."

The Chattanooga Heroes Fund will provide a continuation of financial support to help the families and individuals directly affected by the shooting meet longer-term financial need. A spokesperson for the fund said it is intended to bridge the gap between shorter-term support and future challenges the families and/or individuals stand to face in the coming years.

"We deeply appreciate Peyton Manning for stepping up for these families through the Chattanooga Heroes Fund and call on others to help in recognizing the noble actions of the servicemen who sacrificed and risked their own lives last week," Scoggins said.

The Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga (CFGC) is Chattanooga's oldest community-owned foundation. CFGC has more than 50 year track record of managing funds dedicated to addressing areas of critical need in the greater Chattanooga community, including the administration of more than 350 funds totaling more than $100 million dollars in assets, and more than $14 million grants in 2014 alone.

Donations to the Chattanooga Heroes Fund from individuals, companies and organizations are welcome in any amount and can be made online at CFGC.org. Scoggins said for more information, those who want to donate can call the foundation at (423) 265-0586.
