Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the NG Energy International Corp. (CVE:GASX) CEO & Executive Director, Serafino Iacono, recently bought CA$126k worth of stock, for CA$1.15 per share. Although the purchase is not a big one, increasing their shareholding by only 1.1%, it can be interpreted as a good sign.

NG Energy International Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Director Frank Giustra bought CA$200k worth of shares at a price of CA$0.50 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of CA$1.69. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.
In the last twelve months NG Energy International insiders were buying shares, but not selling. Their average price was about CA$0.28. Does NG Energy International Boast High Insider Ownership?
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. NG Energy International insiders own about CA$48m worth of shares. That equates to 29% of the company. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
