A Community-Driven Effort to Secure Reliable Transportation for 38 Individuals and Families

TORRANCE, Calif., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CarParts.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRTS), a leading eCommerce destination for automotive parts and accessories, joined forces with Safe Parking LA to host Fix-It Day 2025, a large-scale community event dedicated to providing essential vehicle repairs for individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Held at two locations—the Petersen Automotive Museum and Chris' Auto Service in Los Angeles—the event brought together industry leaders, volunteers, and local officials to ensure 38 vehicles received critical repairs, keeping participants safely on the road.

"With our headquarters just miles from the recent Los Angeles fires, we've seen firsthand how important reliable transportation is," said Stephanie Urbach, Chief Human Resources Officer at CarParts.com. "CarParts.com is not just a company—it's a community that cares, and Fix-It Day is our way of stepping up, living our Core Values, and making a real difference in the community."

For many, a working vehicle is more than just transportation—it's a lifeline to employment, education, and essential services. Fix-It Day provided brake replacements, battery changes, oil changes, and other repairs, with over 250 parts donated by CarParts.com and its partners. Among those who took part in the day was Safe Parking LA graduate and board member Mello Shorter who reflected on the event's impact: "Maintaining a vehicle isn't cheap, and for many of us, it's one of the biggest challenges we face. Having a resource like Fix-It Day lifts some of that weight—it's one less thing to worry about, so we can focus on getting where we need to go. It's incredibly encouraging, not just for the participants, but for all of us as a community. When you're in a tough spot, it's easy to feel stuck, but events like this remind us that we're not alone. We have support, we're taking it day by day, and we're still moving forward."

Industry partners played a vital role in making Fix-It Day possible. JC Whitney provided essential tools—including dollies, jack stands, and other equipment—that allowed mechanics to efficiently access and repair vehicles on site. LIQUI MOLY supplied premium motor oils and additives to enhance vehicle longevity, while Bosch contributed high-quality wiper blades and other critical components ensuring each repaired vehicle was better equipped to handle changing road and weather conditions. Wrench dispatched certified mechanics who performed repairs onsite, and The Lime Truck served fresh, hot meals to participants, volunteers, and mechanics throughout the day. And finally, the day would not have been possible without Pacific Nexus bringing the event to life. As part of the event, participants received complimentary access to the Petersen Automotive Museum, giving them the opportunity to explore the exhibits while their vehicles underwent repairs.
