Nov. 28—GROVE CITY — Grove City welcomed the holiday season Saturday with its Christmas in the Park light up in Memorial Park, and the downtown Small Business Saturday event to celebrate local merchants.
Small Business Saturday celebrations ran from the morning into mid-afternoon, with free carriage rides, and live carolers at the Monteleone Gazebo, along with special offers from local businesses.
After Small Business Saturday, the holiday kickoff festivities moved to Memorial Park for Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce's 16th annual Christmas in the Park, which features more than two dozen displays sponsored by Grove City-area businesses and community organizations.
Visitors can vote until noon Friday for their favorite displays on the chamber's Facebook page. There are separate categories for the People's Choice and the Kids' Choice awards. The display photos receiving the most "likes" will be the winners. Voting closes at noon Friday.
The displays will be lit nightly from 5 to 11 p.m. until Jan. 2.
