Canaccord names RBC's ousted finance chief Nadine Ahn as new deputy CFO

(Reuters) - Investment bank Canaccord Genuity Group on Wednesday appointed Nadine Ahn, Royal Bank of Canada's former finance chief who was terminated in April, as its deputy chief financial officer.

Ahn was terminated after serving as RBC's CFO since 2021 for allegedly having an undisclosed close personal relationship with a subordinate, the bank had said.

Ahn denied all allegations regarding the relationship in RBC's counterclaim after she sued the bank for wrongful dismissal and for nearly C$50 million.

Canaccord Genuity said Ahn will replace current CFO Don MacFayden after a planned transition in 2025. MacFayden will continue within the company's U.S. capital markets business.

Ahn will initially focus on optimizing Canaccord's global financial operations, which will include overseeing strategic projects and identifying opportunities to strengthen the company's financial position, the statement said.
