A former Taco Bell on 50th Street in west Lubbock will soon be filled with California-Mexican cuisine, as a new restaurant is set to open this weekend.
Los Victor's Mexican Food, 4928 50th St., is expected to open on Friday, pending inspections. The upcoming restaurant is part of the Los Victor's restaurant brand, which has 17 locations across New Mexico, California and Wisconsin.
Victor Bustos, the owner, is set to open the 15th location on Friday, and hopes the community enjoys the new restaurant.
"California style is like authentic Mexican food," Bustos said. "We have a complete menu with California burritos, tacos, tortas, enchiladas, seafood, all the kinds of soup, birria, everything. The Carne Asada fries are very, very popular."
Bustos said the burritos will be made with a homemade 15-inch tortilla, and the restaurant will offer a salsa bar and agua frescas.
Los Victor's will have a drive-thru, and offer delivery through DoorDash. Hours will be 7 a.m.-3 a.m., and Bustos hopes to have the restaurant eventually be open 24 hours.
The restaurant is hiring for all positions, and applications can be picked up in-person.
