Burger King is trying out something new — a Whopperrito.
As the name implies, the fast food chain has combined its iconic Whopper with a burrito to create the latest fast food mash-up.
The Whopperrito takes traditional Whopper ingredients — including its flame-grilled hamburger patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, white onions, ketchup and mayonnaise — and wraps them up in a flour tortilla shell instead of a burger bun.
Grub Grade reports that so far, the Whopperrito is only being sold to customers in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
So, what does it taste like? One Grub Grade commenter said he was unimpressed:
“It has spicy cheese sauce instead of actual cheese. The whole thing is too ‘wet’ — the cheese sauce mixed with the vegetables … is a lot of moisture. The proportion of burger to the rest of the ingredients is way off and the cheese sauce is too spicy. And it’s hard to get all of the ingredients in one bite. I won’t order it again.”
Just last month Burger King combined the Whopper with a grilled hot dog and started serving up a Whopper Dog, which is basically a hot dog served with all the Whopper toppings, Fortune reports.
Burger King is currently offering two Whopper meals for $10. Each meal includes a traditional Whopper burger (on a bun), fries and a drink.
