Skanska, a global construction and development company, has secured two contracts - one in the UK and the other in the US - worth a total of $210m.

It signed a contract with Baola Properties Limited on behalf of Old Park Lane Management, for the redevelopment of 7 Millbank in London, UK.

This £105m ($136.2m) contract will be recorded under Skanska's European business segment for the third quarter (Q3) of 2024.

The project involves constructing a new nine-storey office building with two basement levels, boasting approximately 12,100m² of flexible workspace.

The redevelopment will include the reconstruction of the building's original historic facade, which has been carefully deconstructed and stored.

This effort is to maintain and enhance the building's historic character as part of the new structure.

The building aims to meet high environmental standards, targeting Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and a Nabers 5 accreditation.

Construction is set to commence this month, with completion anticipated for January 2027.

In parallel, Skanska has also secured a contract with Columbia Memorial Hospital for a hospital expansion project in Astoria, Oregon, US.

Valued at $74m, this contract will be included in the company's US order bookings for Q3 2024.

The expansion includes a four-storey, 16,900m² addition to the existing hospital facilities.

It will feature an expanded emergency department, improved operating rooms, and larger patient rooms, along with extra space for mechanical equipment and other enhancements.

This expansion will enable Columbia Memorial Hospital to offer new services and incorporate the latest medical technology to better serve the community's health needs.

Initial site work for the hospital project is scheduled to begin next month, with project completion expected in August 2027.
