The retailer has been in the Boston market for 92 years and still operates several stores in the area, including units in the suburbs of Chestnut Hill, and Natick, Mass. But the 3,000-square-foot Newbury Street store is being considered its new flagship.
Brooks Brothers had operated a much larger store a block away for many years, but that closed about two years ago.
The new store will offer men’s sportswear on the main floor, womenswear on the second level, and tailored clothing on the third. The initial collections, designed by creative director Michael Bastian, will center on holiday and will include a focus on gifts including cashmere sweaters, classic flannel shirts polos and T-shirts.
The store will also offer Brooks Brothers’ made-to-measure service.
Brooks Brothers is part of the SPARC Group, a partnership between Authentic Brands Group and Simon Property Group.
