Chelsea and Westminster Hospital National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust has appointed Bouygues UK as the lead contractor for a new Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex University Hospital in England, UK.

This partnership has been secured through a competitive bidding process.

Bouygues UK has been tasked with the design and build of the new five-storey facility, with the demolition of the current magnetic resonance imaging building at the hospital already underway.

The new facility will provide a range of services, including cancer, renal, and imaging diagnostics catering to local residents across Hounslow, Richmond, and Ealing.

It is intended to address health disparities, improve patient outcomes, and deliver care closer to home, alleviating pressure on the main hospital's inpatient facilities.

The Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre will focus on outpatient care, offering day services for patients.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust CEO Lesley Watts said: “The new diagnostic centre at West Middlesex University Hospital will provide a vital service for our residents, speeding up diagnosis and treatment.

“Most importantly it will improve early diagnosis and health outcomes for patients in our community for years to come.”

Construction includes a rooftop plant and a terrace area, with a new single-storey link corridor connecting to the existing hospital building on the ground floor.

Aligning with both Bouygues UK’s and the trust’s commitment to the sustainable development of new facilities, the new building will be designed to be all-electric.

Bouygues UK chair and CEO Fabienne Viala said: “We are thrilled to be partnering again with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and leading the construction of this much-needed diagnostic centre.

“This project underscores our commitment to delivering sustainable, state-of-the-art facilities that will significantly benefit the local community.”

Bouygues UK is also collaborating with MITSkills, the London Borough of Hounslow, and JCP Hounslow on a programme to foster training, skills development, and more.

Last year, the University of Chichester named Bouygues UK as the lead contractor for the construction of student accommodation facilities at two of its campuses.
