Bitget trading volume surges to $20B a day, CEO Gracy Chen reveals

Bitget is seeing daily trading volumes of $15 to $20 billion, with expectations for continued growth in 2025, according to CEO and Managing Director Gracy Chen.

Speaking with Roundtable host Rob Nelson, Chen shared insights into the exchange’s competitive position and its plans for the future.

"Right now, our daily trading volume is about 15 to 20 billion on a daily basis," Chen said. "What do we see for 2025? Probably similar. Just like similar, I think a similar user profile and user growth and trading volume. Why? Because right now is already a bull market. 2025 is going to be a bull, but end of 25, we dunno. It could potentially be slightly bearish, more bearish according to the Bitcoin four-year cycle if it still holds."

Competing for the top spot

Chen noted that Bitget currently ranks fourth or fifth in global trading volume, occasionally surging to the second spot during high-volatility moments.

"Sometimes we even hit number two in that day when we talked about Ethereum had a 30% down. I think our total trading volume was the second around the world, only after Binance," she said.

Despite this competition, Chen noted that Bitget is more focused on daily operations rather than fixating on leaderboard rankings.

"We're just trying to work hard and try to catch the biggest player there," she said. "But in general, we don't really focus that much on so-called goals like this. We're more focused on our daily activities."

A competitive culture at Bitget

Chen said Bitget's intense, performance-driven work environment, explaining that employees follow an OKR system — a structured method of setting Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to drive efficiency and accountability.

"Even I have my OKR," she said. "OKR is this objective key out, sort of like, it's like a KPI system, HR management system. Anyway, everyone has our own OKR. RK is like a goal."

She described Bitget as a highly competitive workplace where high performers are rewarded, and underperformers are let go.

"Those who get results done very well [are] awarded. Those who don't get results done and don't bring anything to the table will just be fired away," she said.
