Investing.com - Carnivores beware, Beyond Meat is expanding its plant-based meat substitutes to the European market next year.

The company announced Tuesday that would make its products in the Netherlands as part of a partnership with Zandbergen World’s Finest Meat.

Shares of Beyond Meat (NASDAQ:BYND) jumped 7.5% in midday trade after the news. Its stock has surged 241% since it went public at the beginning of May.

“The consumer response in Europe has been very positive, and we look forward to being able to better serve those customers with locally produced products,” Seth Goldman, executive chairman of Beyond Meat, said in a statement.

Beyond Meat’s products are already distributed across Europe, but this will mark the first production outside of the U.S.
