High-profile figures ranging from government officials to celebrities have used Becker Automotive Design’s vans and SUVs to travel comfortably, securely, or both. The Southern California company’s latest offering is the Armored 1-Ton Escalade. It’s built on a heavy-duty 1-ton Chevrolet Suburban chassis, features Cadillac Escalade bodywork, and can be customized with various levels of protection, including armoring that raises the curb weight to nearly 12,000 pounds. The SUV also includes a variety of mobile-office features, such as a military-spec Wi-Fi router and high-resolution flat-screen TVs. The aircraft-style rear seats are built in-house by Becker and upholstered in high-grade leather.
-
To build the Armored 1-Ton Escalade, Becker stretches the wheelbase of the Suburban by 20 inches and raises the roof 5 inches.
-
Depending on the order, the vehicle takes 120 to 180 days to complete.
-
The vehicle comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
