Technical Innovation: Vacheron Constantin Reference 57260
No matter how long you stare at this bespoke timepiece—or its 57 complications—you can never truly appreciate the 8-year adventure that three watchmakers underwent to complete it. The trio developed entirely new mechanisms, such as a Hebrew calendar, and put daring twists on old ones: Not only did they add a double retrograde display to a chronograph, they also devised an alarm that increases in volume. Vacheron Constantin—which has already released another watch based on the caliber—will be harvesting the fruits of this team’s labor for many years to come.

The one-of-a-kind clock-watch was made for a client through the brand’s Atelier Cabinotiers program.

-
The watch debuted a number of never-before-seen complications, including an ISO 8601 business calendar.
