Settlements scheduled for Friday will need to be deferred until Monday, Dec. 23, the exchange said in a statement.
The service will not start beyond its normal closing time, according to the ASX statement. The revised closing time will be confirmed, it said, as the firm continues to investigate the issue delaying batch settlement on its Clearing House Electronic Subregister System, known as Chess.
The Chess system has been under scrutiny this year amid concerns over the progress and delays of a technology upgrade.
