Apple's $645 Billion Enterprise Opportunity

In a recent report issued by Global Equities Research, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is believed to be missing out on a significant Enterprise business opportunity.

As workforces are becoming more mobile, PC offerings are beginning to be replaced by Apple iOS devices. This presents an opportunity for Apple to both increase the market share of its mobile devices in business settings while also expanding their enterprise software services.

Global Equities Research Managing Director Trip Chowdhry wrote, "Apple is extending its leadership in Consumer markets to the Enterprise...So far Apple has only realized less than 4 percent, $25 billion of $645 Billion of low hanging enterprise revenue opportunity."

The are two segments of this revenue opportunity.

Apple Enterprise Device

According to the resarch firm, businesses are gravitating away from PC computers and shifting to mobile devices for their ease of use and user capabilities. Furthermore, these devices are optimized for applications which greatly enhance worker productivity and efficiency, leading to improved business operations. Analysts believe that there is a $360 billion per year opportunity for Apple in this market

Apple Enterprise Software

Chowdry and his team also believe that Apple Swift will replace Java as the go to enterprise software for businesses. This represents a $285 billion per year opportunity for Apple.

Shares of Apple traded recently at $118.13, down less than 1 percent on the day.
