Apple is having a busy week.
The tech giant on Wednesday announced yet another new product: a new MacBook Air with the M4 chip. The newest model will have up to 18 hours of battery life, a new 12MP Center Stage camera, and is built for Apple Intelligence. The new MacBook comes in at a lower starting price than previous models, at $999.
With the M4 chip, Apple (AAPL) claims the newest laptop is faster and more energy efficient than previous models and competitors.
This Apple launch follows Tuesday’s announcement of the newest iPad Air M3 tablet with a refreshed Magic Keyboard.
Apple CEO Tim Cook teased a new Air product on Monday by posting a video on the social media platform X that said, “There's something’s in the AIR” and observers speculated it being an updated MacBook Air with M4 chip.
In Apple’s most-recent quarterly financial results, the company said about 7% of sales came from Mac products. The company said customers can preorder now, with availability starting March 12, just like the new iPad Air.
The announcement also comes days after Apple’s newest phone model, the iPhone 16e, hit stores.
