ADP's number follows at 8:15 a.m. ET and is expected to show that 220,000 jobs were added in February. That would compare with growth of 213,000 in December.
The Institute for Supply Management's service-sector index is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET. Forecasters anticipate a reading of 56.5, down slightly from 56.7 in January.
Crude-oil inventories follow at 10:30 a.m. ET and the Federal Reserve's Beige Book survey of economic conditions is the last event at 2 p.m. ET.
American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Trina Solar announce quarterly results before the opening bell. H&R Block and Pacific Ethanol follow in the afternoon.
Tomorrow is the busiest session of the week. The European Central Bank's monetary announcement will likely dominate attention as investors watch for clues on the pace of monetary stimulus. Select retailers in the U.S. also report monthly same-store sales, and the Labor Department announces weekly jobless claims. Factory orders and natural-gas inventories are due as well.
Thursday's earnings calendar includes Costco, Joy Global, Kroger, Ciena, Canadian Solar, and Achillion Pharmaceuticals before the opening bell. Finisar, YY, and Quicksilver follow in the afternoon.
Non-farm payrolls and unemployment dominate Friday morning. Staples and Foot Locker issue results as well.
