The property, from 233 to 265 South Highland Ave., was purchased by Black Diamond Equity, LLC and will be the site of the gas station and convenience store, as well as a Taco Bell. The 7-Eleven will be located on the lots of where the diner once stood. The Taco Bell will be built on an adjacent lot, according to Admiral Real Estate's Haryn Intner, Black Diamond Equity's representation for the purchase.
The parcel is across Route 9 from the Arcadian Shopping Center.
Construction on the project began on April 8. According to Intner, there is no timeline for completion of the projects.
In August 2019, the Landmark Diner was gutted by a fire that began in the restaurant's kitchen. Six fire departments and about 75 firefighters responded to the blaze. Following the fire, the diner was razed. At the time, the restaurant's owner, the Thanos Restaurant Group, said it planned to rebuild.
