Kenaf fiber, while great for oil-absorbent materials, can also be used to make end products such as paper, grass mats, fiberglass substitutes, fiber composites for the automotive industry, animal bedding, chicken litter, animal forage, particle board, potting soil, and more.
Once the, now fully funded, North Carolina Industrial Hemp Commission creates the guidelines for the cultivation of hemp, Hemp, Inc. will kick its hemp fiber sales into high gear and process massive quantities for distribution... an easy feat for the 70,000 square foot commercial multi-purpose industrial hemp decortication facility. Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) said, "Right now, we are focused on kenaf. That is what we are planting now. However, next year we expect to plant hemp."
Another product made from the raw kenaf is Spill-Be-Gone. This is the exact same product as SpillSuck but packaged in 1,000-pound bags. This was designed to be used as an emergency response for oil spills in water that were not contained, and has washed up on shore such as the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill on April 20, 2010. As the most absorbent plant on earth (based on a US Navel Study) kenaf works wonders in cleaning up shorelines and absorbing oil off birds and other animals.
David Schmitt said, "The last time we made this product in my previous company was during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We took roughly 2,000 pounds of it down to the Gulf in Louisiana. We couldn't get through all the political red tape to demonstrate our product so we made a pile of it on the beach. It was totally amazing to watch all the birds and other small animals that were completely covered in oil walk in and through the pile of kenaf. And how easily it removed the oil from them. It was like they instinctively knew that this mound of kenaf would help save their lives."
The 1,000-pound emergency response Spill-Be-Gone for oil spills that reach shorelines probably will not sell as rapidly as the 25 pound bags of SpillSuck which is used for everyday oil, chemical and other toxic liquid spills. "However, we feel it is environmentally prudent and socially responsible for oil and chemical companies to maintain a certain amount of our Spill-Be-Gone in inventory to be able to rapidly respond to emergency spills." According to a recent article on TrueActivist.com, "Since 2012, there have been 147 spills and about 516,900 gallons of oil leaked into the Gulf of Mexico."
"For oil spills that haven't reached the shore and are still out at sea, such as last week's Shell Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico, we will be producing another product called SpillMaster. This is the kenaf or hemp made of a coarser particle size than our other products. It is put inside floating booms traditionally made for emergency oil spills at sea. It consists of short fiber/high core content for a high absorbency rate," said Schmitt.
DrillWall™, commonly referred to as "loss circulation material" or (LCM), is also one of the six products. The DrillWall™ is a micronized plant cellulosic material, naturally non-toxic and is an antimicrobial. "Our DrillWall™ can be used as a drilling fluid, as well as a lubricating agent, a torque or a drag reducer in order to prevent differential sticking. This substance can be used with all types of water-based, oil-based, or synthetic drilling fluids," says Schmitt. LCMs are mainly used by oil and drilling companies because they seal highly permeable formations of fractured shale, sand or pre-salt during the drilling process.
According to what experts have told Hemp, Inc. executives, the U.S. oil drilling industry suffers losses in excess of a billion dollars each year due to loss circulation. Hemp, Inc., therefore, anticipates very large sales and revenues from our DrillWall™. "One industry expert, in particular, wanted to know if we could produce a million pounds a month because that is how much he can sell. Although Hemp, Inc. is not making any claims or future projections based on this information, we are extremely optimistic about this particular product hitting the marketplace," said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP).
Perlowin also mentioned the company will have a 6th product soon but the company is keeping it under wraps for now. "We are in negotiations to either rent 10,000 square feet of our 70,000 square foot facility or provide a separate building on or near our property to the company that wants to purchase this 6th product from us. This seems to be a budding trend with our customers. As with this particular order, we estimate it will take over 10,000 acres of hemp to process enough material to supply their needs," said Perlowin.
"We have also been in negotiations with several CBD manufacturers who want to rent 1,000 to 3,000 square feet in our facility to process CBDs. Reason being? They want to be where the largest supply of hemp will be grown in America. We suspect we'll be growing a lot more in North Carolina than we originally anticipated, so we're considering expanding this model of creating space in our facility or building additional buildings on or near our existing campus as we quickly become America's first Hemp Hub. With rapid technological advances in CBD extraction, CBD manufacturers will want to have a place to showcase their manufacturing equipment for sale, and create a somewhat turnkey solution for the production of their CBD oils and other products. Our North Carolina Hemp Hub is the perfect place for this."
Bruce Perlowin continued, "Again, what we are trying to do is invite other hemp manufacturers and producers of hemp products to join us at the North Carolina Hemp Hub and be a part of the new clean green sustainable American agricultural and industrial revolution."
The race seems to be on in America as to which state will be the largest hemp processor and/or grower to reach the culminating point of the 'Hemp Renaissance and Hemp Revolution.' But with Hemp, Inc.'s natural, environmentally friendly products being manufactured, combined with the largest commercial decorticating plant in North America, Hemp, Inc. is already positioned as a leader in the agricultural industrial hemp industry.

Craig Perlowin continued, "While we cannot predict this as being accurate or even close to 50,000 acres, it is highly probable with the largest infrastructure in North America... right here in North Carolina. We have made it economically viable for farmers to grow a lot more hemp here than anywhere else in the country. In fact, there are already a few hemp manufacturers that are planning to move operations to North Carolina just to be in or near our facility so they can benefit from this North Carolina Hemp Hub that we are creating. We are also currently negotiating the purchase of 50 acres next to our current 9 acres and/or other buildings and acreage close by to erect buildings for storage and to rent to other hemp related businesses to accommodate the ever expanding multi-purpose hemp startups in our North Carolina Hemp Hub. It only makes sense that with 50,000+ acres of hemp growing, combined with our processing facility, hemp manufacturers move here to maximize their productivity. We are officially inviting other hemp companies to join us in our North Carolina Hemp Hub."
With a solid economic development strategy and a strong business tax climate, North Carolina has become a very appealing state for business operations. U.S. SOON TO REACH THE HALFWAY MARK OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION
The Ohio House of Representatives approved House Bill 523, on Tuesday, approving medical marijuana use for people with qualifying medical conditions with a doctor's recommendation. The bill, passed in a 71-26 vote, now heads to the Ohio Senate. If Ohio legalizes medical marijuana, exactly half of the United States will have done so. According to news sources, "It's a historic vote for the conservative legislature, putting Ohio one step closer to becoming the 25th state to legalize marijuana in some form." Thus far, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and the nation's capital, District of Columbia have legalized medical marijuana.
