Ridehailing giants Uber and Didi Chuxing, based in San Francisco and Beijing, respectively, lead the list of most valuable private companies around the globe. Below is an interactive chart of the most valuable VC-backed companies in the world, put together using data sourced from the PitchBook Platform. Click on the headings to sort by different criteria, and hover over the logos to see company names.
Data as of May 11, 2018. Some of the valuations above are estimated.
Xiaomi, Flipkart and NIO have been omitted from the list because they’re either in the process of going public or have announced an acquisition deal.
Snapdeal reached a $6.5 billion valuation with a financing round in 2016. It’s been omitted from the list because since then it's been in widely reported acquisition talks that value the company at less than $1 billion.
