The Dow just barely snapped its longest losing streak since 1974, after some dip buying earlier in the morning fizzled as the trading day unfolded. The blue-chip index rose just 16 points, or 0.04%, to end its losing streak at 10 sessions. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite slid in the final half-hour of trading to close down 0.1% each.
