The Dow surged in Friday morning trading, topping gains for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq and nearly keeping pace with the Russell 2000. Most of the stocks in the blue-chip index were rising, and its most influential members were leading the way. With the Dow up 620 points, or 1.6%, only five of its 30 member stocks were falling.
