A sleepy session for the stock market turned red on Tuesday. Shortly after 2 p.m. ET, the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.4%. The S&P 500 was down 0.3%. The Dow was off 122 points, or 0.3%. All three were on track for modest gains for much of the morning, but trading got choppy in the absence of major news.
