Samuel Adams Brewer Projects Tariff Hit of $20 Million or More

The brewer of Samuel Adams beer said it expects tariffs to cost it between $20 million and $30 million this year, including levies on imported aluminum as well materials imported from China for in-store displays. Boston Beer said its sales to retailers fell 1% in the latest quarter. Company executives said beer sales were weaker than expected in part because of inflation, economic uncertainty and tumbling consumer confidence.
