The Dow built on its record close on what was a mixed day for the broader market. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed close to flat after a chip-led rally earlier in the afternoon petered out a bit. A strong report from Taiwan Semiconductor helped semiconductor stocks rebound a bit after the group took a hit in the wake of ASML’s softer-than-expected outlook.
