For those trying to figure out where the AI boom is headed next, at least one CEO says to look to how the internet evolved. In an interview with Yahoo Finance Anchor Seana Smith at the Yahoo Finance Invest conference, IBM (IBM) Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna says to remember the lessons of the internet's halcyon days. In other words, don't expect all of AI's use cases to appear simultaneously.

"I think AI is going to be just like the internet," Krishna said. "There's an initial boom, people are excited about what you would call social media, then came the boom of b2b and e-business...You can see what's happened to the world of online e-commerce."
